Federal Law 9.974/00, of June 2000, governs the destination of agrochemical containers and apportions responsibilities to farmers, distributors, manufacturers and government.

InpEV has been created to represent the agrochemical industry in their role of properly dispose (recycling or incinerating) containers returned by farmers, and to foster the development of the program with all co-responsible agents.
