Receiving Units Plants must be environmentally licensed to receive containers and may be called Container Receiving Units Centers or central Receiving Units Plants according to the kind of service provided:
Container Receiving Units Posts:
Those are licensed Container Receiving Units Centers with the minimum size of 80 m2 (Resolution from the Ministry of Environment), managed by an Association of Distributors that provides the following services:
Receiving rinsed and non-rinsed containers;
Inspecting and sorting containers out into rinsed and non-rinsed;
Issuing a receipt confirming the return of the containers to the farmer;
Forwarding containers to central Receiving Units Plants.
Container Receiving Units Centers:
Those are at least 160 m2 large (Resolution from the Ministry of Environment) licensed buildings, in general managed by an Association of Distributors in cooperation with inpEV, which receive rinsed and non-rinsed containers from farmers, Container Receiving Units Centers and licensed businesses. They provide the following services:
Receiving rinsed and non-rinsed containers (from farmers, Container Receiving Units Centers and licensed businesses);
Inspecting and sorting containers out into rinsed and non-rinsed;
Issuing a receipt confirming the return of containers;
Sorting containers out by type (PET, COEX, HDPE, Metallic, cardboard);
Compacting containers by the type of material;
Issuing a collection order so that inpEV may arrange for transportation to the final destination (recycling or incinerating).
